Important Information regarding Covid-19
In the past weeks several requests have reached us regarding the requirements for students coming to Germany these days. Here we want to give you a short overview about the current information. Please keep in mind that the situation can change, so always have a look at the official web pages.
Given the current situation, our University has laid out guidelines for coronavirus. It says that students coming from risk areas are required to go into 14 days quarantine as soon as they enter Magdeburg. From October 1, the quarantine should be able to be lifted with a negative test after five days at the earliest. Furthermore, you should register yourself in the quarantine form provided by the university: https://ovgu.moveon4.de/locallogin/5f7191a0f5f25472bc4aaed5/eng.
Risk Areas are defined by the German Institution RKI and regularly updated: https://www.rki.de/DE/Content/InfAZ/N/Neuartiges_Coronavirus/Risikogebiete_neu.html (you’ll find a PDF there with further information in English).
The university provides a detailed FAQ for all further questions: https://www.uni-magdeburg.de/unimagdeburg/en/University/Information+about+the+corona+virus+and+the+behavior+of+the+university/Information+for+international+students/FAQ+for+international+students-faq-97830-p-98190.html#faq_97830
Stay healthy! We’re happy to welcome you in Magdeburg soon.
Greetings,
Jana
